Well, its been 8 months and as soon as I set up my blogger site, I wanted to move to wordpress. I finally made the move last week. I have to say, that I am having a few struggles with moving comments, but all and all it was worth it.
Every time I joined a blogging group, they were on wordpress and I felt like I was behind the game. I think if you are just blogging as a hobby, blogger is fine. That’s how my blog started. But as time went on, I realized eventually I plan on monetizing it. Blogger doesn’t allow that, and I hear they can close down your site.
So I made the move, and been a little behind on my blogging. I also took a great course from Melissa Culbertson from Momcomm. Its called Content Brew. I suggest you sign up for it, if you are a blogger. She gives you 7 days of content to help you get organized.
I am learning about all the plug in’s for wordpress. I really liked this article that gives you 19 essential plugins from Problogger.net. I am not sure what my favorite one is yet, I am going through the list and adding them. It’s taking me a little longer since I am not as tech savvy as I would like to be.
Another blog that I like that gives me lots of information on social networks is NighLon. Cari is doing a series right now called Blogging from A – Z.
So I am really excited to start working with wordpress more, and recommend it to anyone that plans great things for their blog.
I would love to know what your favorite plug in is, in case I want to add it to my blog. If you would like to receive our recipe and kitchen tips newsletter once a month, Sign up for our free monthly recipe newsletter!

Thank you so much Candi! I love writing NighLon, and I am so glad that you benefit from it. I'm also glad that you made the move, I know it was kind of stressful, but I am so glad you are pleased with your decision. My favorite plugin would have to be GASP- it is a spam prevention plugin that is super simple it hides a check box so that spam bots will fill it in. A person will not see the box, so their comment is not spam! Pure genius! Once again, thank you for the link! You rock!
I have never heard of gasp. Thanks I will look it up.
I've been thinking of using WordPress.org. It sounds hard to set up, though. Not really?
It looks terrific! And Nighlon is awesome as well! I totally agree with Cari, I love GASP as well. Enjoy your new home 🙂
My recent post Need A Fresh Set Of Eyes
I will have to check out gasp, I haven't heard of it before.
Congrats on the new move. I love comment luv the best … though I must say, I'm still learning about all the plug-ins and widgets (and all with Cari's help). Glad to see you back up.

Do you have the premium version or the free one. I am thinking of making the change to the premium one.
What is the difference in the two? I have free Comment luv.
Me too. I just know it offers more.
Congrats on the move. It's kind of confusing at first but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask =) I finally went self hosted myself!
My recent post Week 2 of Cell Phone Photography Entries.
Thanks for the shout out! Congrats on switching over to WP! I'm sure you'll be happy with the flexibility of it all once you get used to it!

Glad your move to WP went smoothly! I moved over about a year ago. I think the learning curve is different BUT its what all the "professional" bloggers use 🙂
My favorite plugin has been Thank You Later. It sends out an email to first time readers who comment
Oh, I will check it out.
Welcome to WordPress!! I am sure you will be thrilled with it the more and more you get used to it!
