March 2 is Dr. Seuss’s (Theodor Seuss Geisel) birthday. He was born in Springfield, Ma., in 1904 and passed away on September 24, 1991. Schools around the world will be celebrating his birthday with week long activities, that coincides with Read across America.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Here are a few of the activities that you might find during Dr. Seuss week.
- One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish (make a game out it)
- Green Eggs and Ham (Make some green eggs and ham for snacks)
- Wacky Wednesday (hang things around the room upside down)
- The Cat in the Hat (wear cat hats to school)
- Foods inspired by Dr. Seuss books (make fun snacks)

In our 2nd grade class, we go outside and read everyday after our activity and snack.
Fun Fact: His first book, To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street was rejected 27 times before it was published in 1937. One of my favorites is Wacky Wednesday.
