With a fudgy brownie base, a luscious layer of creamy cheesecake, and a delicate swirl of strawberry jam, these brownies will satisfy your sweet tooth.

These brownies also make an elegant addition to a selection of Tea party desserts, pairing beautifully with classic treats like scones and macarons. For a charming presentation, consider cutting them into mini brownie bites for easy serving alongside tea.

For a full list of ingredients and instructions see the recipe card below.

    Ingredients

Ingredients for Strawberry Cream Cheese Brownies.
    • Brown Sugar – Adds moisture and a deep caramel-like sweetness, enhancing the fudgy texture of the brownies.
    • Dark Chocolate Chips – Melt into the batter for a rich, intense chocolate flavor that balances the sweetness of the cheesecake layer.
    • Strawberry Jam – Provides a fruity sweetness and slight tartness that complements the creamy cheesecake and chocolatey brownie base.
    • Eggs – Help bind the ingredients together, creating a smooth and creamy cheesecake layer while adding structure to the brownies.
    • Cocoa Powder – Intensifies the chocolate flavor, giving the brownies a deep, rich taste and velvety texture.

    Substitutions

    • Mascarpone cheese for cream cheese for a richer, slightly sweeter cheesecake layer.
    • Coconut sugar for granulated sugar for a subtle caramel-like sweetness.
    • Raspberry or cherry jam instead of strawberry for a slightly different fruity flavor that still pairs beautifully with chocolate.

    Brownie Step by Step Instructions

    Step 1:

In a medium bowl, whisk together cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, 1 egg, ¼ cup jam, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Set the bowl aside until later.

    Step 2:

In a large bowl, whisk the 2 eggs plus egg yolk, ½ cup of brown sugar and ¾ cup of granulated sugar ¼ cup of oil, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.

    Step 3:

In the microwave melt the stick of butter for 45 seconds and add the dark chocolate and stir until melted. If necessary melt for another 30 seconds. Add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder until smooth.

    Step 4:

Combine the sugar mixture with the chocolate mixture and blend until smooth.

Add the flour mixture to the large bowl of chocolate batter and fold until all the flour is incorporated.

    Step 5:

Pour the brownie mixture into the brownie pan and smooth the top with an offset knife.

    Step 6:

Add the cheesecake batter on top of the brownie batter and smooth it with an offset knife.

Stir the strawberry jam in a small bowl until a smooth consistency. Add spoonfuls on top of the cream cheese topping and using a knife or toothpick swirl around, being careful not to go too deep into the brownie mixture.

    Notes

    • It is preferred to use softened Philadelphia Cream Cheese to prevent lumps and get a creamy consistency in the batter.
    • Always use Large Eggs when baking for more consistent results. Most recipes are based on large 2 oz eggs.
    • You can use Dark Chocolate Bars or Dark Chocolate Chips
    • For even slices, use a ruler and slice refrigerated brownies.
