How to freeze berries

I have been reading lots of posts about freezing berries. When you think of the extra cost to buy them fresh when they are not in season, this becomes a great idea. Right now most berries are at a low price. So this would be a great time to buy some and freeze them until you need them. You can freeze all kinds of fruit, such as blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, mangos, papayas, there is no limit.

Here is how you can flash freeze them and then wrap them up to freeze them until later.

Rinse off your berries and let them dry in the colander.  Place the berries on a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. That is called flash freezing.

Next place the berries into a freezer safe zip lock bag.  This saves a lot of space in the freezer.      That’s it. Easy Peasy.

Do you freeze items and what are your tips?
