    What You Will Love About These Matcha Cookies

    These cookies are soft, flavorful, and have just the right amount of sweetness. They are easy to make and full of Matcha goodness. Your green tea cookies will be made in just about 30 minutes. These treats will pair well with our Oat Milk Matcha Latte

    Ingredients

    Ingredients for Matcha Cookies
    • All Purpose flour
    • Baking soda
    • Salt
    • Matcha green tea powder culinary grade (Found in many Healthfood or Asian markets or on Amazon)
    • Unsalted Butter softened
    • Brown sugar
    • Granulated sugar
    • Large eggs
    • Vanilla extract
    • Chocolate Chips

    Substitutions & Variations

    • You can either drizzle or dip the cookies in melted chocolate chips or white chocolate chips.
    • You can change out the Chocolate Chips for White Chocolate Chips.
    • You can substitute vanilla extract for almond extract.
    • If you substitute salted butter eliminate the salt in the recipe.
    • Do not substitute flour in the recipe or you will get a different result.

    How to Make Matcha Green Tea Cookies

    • Add salt, baking soda, and flour to a large bowl. Mix
    • Add brown sugar, sugar, matcha, and softened butter in a separate large bowl, and mix until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and mix.

    • Slowly stir in the flour while the batter is whisking.
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips. (Note, the Matcha got added after the mixing by mistake)
    • Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out cookie dough (or 2 tbsp). Roll it into an even ball and place it on a cookie sheet. Leave room around each cookie to expand.
    • Cook at 350° for 12 -14 minutes or until golden brown.

    Baking Tips

    • Use room temperature butter for best results
    • Make your cookies the same size to ensure the cookies have the same texture and bake the same. Use a cookie scoop for best results.
    • Don’t over-mix ingredients or this can make the cookies tough.
    • Cool down the cookies before storing so they don’t break apart from the trapped steam.
    • Matcha Powder Use a good quality Matcha Powder in either Ceremonial or Culinary.

    Ingredients  

    • 2 1/2 cups All Purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
    • 1 cup butter unsalted softened
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1/2 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
    • Add salt, baking soda, and flour to large bowl. Mix
    • Add brown sugar, sugar, matcha, and softened butter in a separate large bowl, and mix until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and mix.
    • Slowly stir in the flour while the batter is whisking.
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
    • Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out cookie dough (or 2 tbsp). Roll it into an even ball and place it on a cookie sheet. Leave room around each cookie to expand.
    • Cook at 350° for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Once done let cookies rest for 5 minutes and remove them to a cookie rack for further cooling. Enjoy warm and with a glass of cold milk!

    Notes

    • You can change out the Chocolate Chips for White Chocolate Chips.
