Add some honey to it, and you have a coffee house beverage made in the comfort of your home at a fraction of the price. Grades of Matcha

Matcha Tea Powder comes in several different blends and grades. Some grades are best for cooking, and some are best for drinking. You can generally see the difference in grades by the color of the powder. Ceremonial will be the brightest of the grades. There are also possible benefits to drinking this Superfood Matcha Tea. I tend to stick with Ceremonial and Culinary for my recipes.

Ceremonial Grade Matcha: The highest quality, used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. It has a rich, smooth flavor and vibrant green color.

Premium Grade Matcha: High-quality matcha suitable for daily drinking, offering a balanced taste and good color, though not as fine as the ceremonial grade.

Culinary Grade Matcha: Used in cooking and baking, it has a stronger, slightly more bitter flavor. Ideal for lattes, smoothies, and desserts.

Organic Matcha: Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, suitable for those seeking a natural and eco-friendly option.

Blended Matcha: A mix of matcha and other ingredients, sometimes with added flavors or sweeteners for unique taste profiles.

    Ingredients

Ingredients for oat milk Matcha Latte.
    • Ceremonial grade matcha powder + extra for dusting
    • Hot water
    • Oat milk or any dairy-free substitution you prefer. I like Oatly. You can use any oat milk that froths well and is labeled with Barista.
    • Honey, optional

    Matcha Oat Milk Latte Directions

    1.  Add the matcha powder to the serving mug
    2. Pour in the hot water.

    3. Using a stick milk frother, aerate the water and matcha until a light foam is created. Heat your oat milk using a small saucepan, milk warmer, or the microwave.

    4. Pour the warm oat milk into the mug.

    5. Dust with Matcha Powder.

    6. OPTIONAL, drizzle your honey into the mix. Stir and enjoy.

    Substitutions and Variations

    • Use a Matcha Whisk instead of a frother if needed.
    • Try different kinds of milk, such as almond or coconut.
    • Substitute Maple Syrup, Agave or Stevia for Honey.
    • Add Ice for a delicious Iced Matcha Latte.
