    Beefy Mac and Cheese: Skillet Meal

    This Beefy Mac and Cheese made in the skillet combines the ease of quick clean-up with homemade goodness your family will love.  

    Do you have a busy schedule and don’t want to spend too much time cooking dinner? This beefy mac and cheese recipe is perfect for those nights when you are short on time. All of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store, so there’s no need to go searching all over town. If you’re looking for an easy weeknight meal that will satisfy your family, this is it!

    I am always looking for quick meals that have fresh ingredients and this one encompasses everything I need to get a home-cooked meal on the table, along with easy clean up with just one pan.

    Why I Like This Recipe

    This easy Mac and Cheese Recipe takes under 30 minutes to make and uses just a few ingredients. It is filling and you can add a green salad and some garlic bread to it for a full and delicious meal.

    Ingredients

    Hamburger, Oil, Shredded Cheese, Garlic, Basil, Chili Powder, Ground Oregano, Can of Crushed Tomatoes, Macaroni, and Salt and Pepper.

    Directions

    • Heat a 12″ skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and cook it until browned. Drain Fat
    • Wipe out the skillet and add the oil, and heat over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, and cook until tender.
    • Return the beef to the skillet and add basil, oregano, canned tomatoes, chili powder and 1 cup of water. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Increase heat to high and let come to a simmer. Add the elbow macaroni, stir and cover the skillet. Reduce heat to medium and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is tender and most of the liquid is gone. Approx 8 minutes.
    • Sprinkle with cheese on top, cover the skillet and cook until cheese is melted about 60 seconds.

    Ingredients  

    • 1 lb lean ground beef
    • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 1 teaspoon Basil Leaves
    • 1 teaspoon Oregano

    • 1 cup water

    • Kosher salt and pepper
