I have been reading lots of posts about how to freeze berries. When you think of the extra cost to buy them fresh when they are not in season, this becomes a great idea.

Right now most berries are at a low price. So this would be a great time to buy some and freeze them until you need them. You can freeze all kinds of fruit, such as blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, mangos, and papayas, there is no limit.

    Flash Freeze Your Berries Now

Here is how you can flash freeze them and then wrap them up to freeze them until later.

Rinse off your berries and let them dry in the colander.  Place the berries on a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. That is called flash freezing.

Next place the berries into a freezer-safe zip-lock bag.  This saves a lot of space in the freezer.   That’s it. Easy Peasy.

Now that you have some frozen berries, what can you do with them? That’s easy, put them in smoothies. Use them with these lemon ricotta pancakes. Freeze them in ice cube trays and put them in your drinks for a pretty display. You can use them in cupcakes or any dessert. Now that you know, go buy some berries and freeze them for later.

I loved learning about this last year, but I couldn't find the pictures I took, so I did it again. It beats paying top price.
